One lane traffic on Fort Gibson Dam (State Hwy 251A): Visitors to the Fort Gibson Dam area should be aware that traffic has been reduced to one lane on a portion of the Fort Gibson Dam. Traffic lights are in place. No loads wider than 10' are allowed to cross the dam. Traffic restriction is due to a major rehabilitation project on the flood gates. The construction project is expected to last 3 years. Periodic closure of the road may be required. Road closures are generally from 8 am - 4 pm.
