This is a fabulous little campground on the shore of Lake Juliette, just NW of Macon on US 23. The facilities are clean and modern, and very well-kept. There are 45 sites, 9 are tent-only. The rest have electric and water, and there is a dump station as well. Lots of people fishing, especially from the day use area. You hear a little noise from the highway, and train whistles. It is just a few miles from the Whistle Stop Cafe, where the movie Fried Green Tomatoes was filmed. The cafe is still in operation. We ended up staying 3 nights - so peaceful. All sites can be reserved up to 45 days in advance, so call to make sure there is space.
We stopped here for the night on our way to Albuquerque. It is a tiny little spot with no pull-through sites but otherwise a great spot. Laundry and bathrooms are modern and clean and they have a Senior rate of $30 including tax.
We found this park when the one we wanted in Flagstaff was closed for the winter. Not a lot of privacy but this time of year it wasn't crowded. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
